How To Wash And Dry Your Leggings
Aug 13, 2021
Laundry is never fun, and we all know that washing machines and dryers make the boring household task a bit more manageable. But, when you find the perfect pair of leggings that fit you like Cinderellas shoes, you don't want to ruin them by throwing them in the washer or dryer.
A lot of people are concerned about washing their leggings. They don’t know how to wash them and dry them without ruining them because they usually start to lose their quality after a wash. There is a right way to do everything. And it all starts with with a high-quality pair of leggings, such as those offered by Halara.

The Washing Procedure

Fabrics like olefin and spandex that are synthetic and used for clothes like leggings or yoga pants are supposed to be washed in cold water. With these, the dryer should be skipped even if kept on low heat. It’s best to air dry them in the sun or under an air source like a fan.

The dryer is harsh on fabrics like olefin and spandex and so the cloth retires easily after machine washing or drying. Fabrics softeners are good for these materials to keep them together and soft after the wash rather than getting worn out.

When washing your pair of leggings, they should be washed separately from other clothes especially from other fabrics like denim jeans, towels, and cotton shirts. They can be washed together if they are just another pair of leggings or the same fabric. Preferably, they are to be washed separately and dried so that they stay in good condition and don’t get ruined.

If you throw them in the washer for a spin, the speed should be slow so that it is not too harsh on the cloth. Set the gentle cycle when spinning them in the washer. This will prevent them from getting rough and will keep them in good condition after the wash.

Washing them alone is very important to maintain the quality after the wash. With other harsh clothes, they will get ruined.

Hand-Washing Your Leggings

Make sure to be gentle and soft when hand washing your pair of leggings. Keep your hands gentle on the cloth and do not rub them too harshly.

When you are washing your leggings, do not pour too much detergent on them. Synthetic materials like these and detergent aren’t a good match. Using too much detergent will ruin the cloth, so it is very important to be careful with the detergent. If too much detergent is added, it’ll make the cloth sticky and stiff and can trap bacteria too which is harmful.

Adding a fabric softener is also a good idea. A fabric softener will be helpful and a good match with detergent.

If these instructions are followed carefully, your leggings will retain their high quality after a long time and many washes. The key to making your leggings last long without fading is to wash them and dry them properly afterward.
