What Sports Bra Size Am I?

After knowing which type of sports you want and which is the best for your specific activity, the next question you should ask yourself is, "What sports bra size am I?" The sizing matters the most; only the perfect-sized bra will provide you the protection and support that you need during fitness activities. So, it is necessary to know what sports bra size you need before making your purchase. Now you might be thinking, how would I know my sports bra size before buying it? To help you with this, we have compiled the steps you need to follow to figure out your bra size.
THINGS YOU NEED: A MEASURING TAPE
Steps for finding the perfect sports bra size:
1. Find your band size.
The band of the bra provides the most support to your breasts as it holds them in place. So, it should fit perfectly and not be so loose that your breasts move around. For this, you need to measure the band size. Breathe out, and wrap the measuring tape snugly around your rib cage just underneath your breasts. To get the right measurement, make sure the measuring tape is at the same level all around. Round the measurement to the nearest even number, and you have got your band size.
2. Find your bust size.
The second step is to find your bust size so that the cups of the sports bra will hold your breasts in place. To find your bust size, take the measuring tape and wrap it around to the fullest part of your breasts - the point where your breast is the furthest from your body. Round the measurement to the nearest inch, and you have got your bust size.
3. Reference a sizing chart.
Now that you have your band and bust sizes, reference a sizing chart for the specific product you're considering to ensure you're getting the perfect sports bra size. For example, the sizing chart of our In My Feels Sports Bra is as follows:
So, if your band size was 32 inches and your bust size was 36 inches, you would need a size medium sports bra.
AFTER PURCHASE: ENSURING A PROPER FIT
After you have bought the sports bra according to the measurements you took, now how can you make sure you have got the perfect size? Here are a few things you can do:
1. Check the band
Wear the bra and make sure the band perfectly snuggles around the ribcage and is not too loose. To determine the best fit, you must be able to fit two of your fingers between the band of the sports bra and your body. It should be flat and leveled at the back. If it rides up, then you have probably bought too big of a size. It should fit on the loosest/ first hook initially, so that if it is stretched over time, you can tighten it up.
2. Check the straps
The straps should be comfortable and should not be digging into your skin, and if it does, then your band size is probably too large, and the straps might be providing the support which the band is supposed to. If the straps slip off your shoulders and you need to pull them back constantly, then the straps are too loose. If they are adjustable, you can tighten them, otherwise, you need to buy different styled straps that are wider.
3. Check the cups
The cups should completely contain and cover your breasts. If the breasts spill out of the cups, then you have bought too small a size. If the fabric of the cups wrinkle and does not fit smoothly, then you might have bought too large a size.
